Kathmandu. Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned European countries that escalating the conflict with Russia could prove costly. Speaking to reporters in Moscow, Putin said attempts to ban shipping in the Baltic Sea could lead to a situation similar to the one in Hormuz.

Putin said, “Russia does not want war with Europe, but any country involved in the conflict must be prepared for the consequences.”

The Baltic Sea is an important shipping route between Russia and Europe. Many European countries, including Russia, use this route for trade. Oil, gas and other goods are transported by ship from one country to another through it.

Tensions between Russia and European countries have risen since the start of the war in Ukraine. NATO countries around the Baltic Sea are also present.

Russia fears that its trade will be affected if European countries stop its ships from passing through this route. Putin says the situation could worsen if the ships are stopped. This will affect not only Russia but also the trade of other countries.
