London. In the northern part of the UK, heavy rain and strong winds have affected life here. Due to the storm, 10,000 homes were left without electricity and transport services were disrupted on Sunday.

Boello is the second biggest storm to hit the UK this season. Earlier on Friday, the storm, named Austen, had a wide impact on the southern regions of the country. The Energy Networks Association has reported that more than 82,000 homes are without electricity in an update up to 8 am. According to the association, the electricity service that was cut after the damage caused by Austin has been reconnected to about 350,000 customers.

In Scotland, where storm warnings have been issued for heavy rain, roads and railways have been closed due to downed trees, downed power poles and damaged road surfaces.

Wind gusts reached up to 135 kilometers per hour in Argyll and Bute in western Scotland, according to the Met Office. Heavy rain warnings have been issued for Scotland and northern England.

Some areas are expected to receive up to 80 millimeters of rain, which has increased the possibility of flooding. Northern Ireland has also been affected, with some flights from Belfast being cancelled.

Ferry services across the Irish Sea between Belfast and north-west England have also been disrupted. The Met Office has issued instructions to the local administration to stay at home as much as possible in the areas where there is a risk of buelo. AFP
