Gandaki As part of the ‘sweep operation’ conducted by the District Police Office against illegal activities, hooliganism and disturbing peace and security in the society, 40 people have been arrested from various places in Kaski and action has been taken.

During the investigation at Pokhara Metropolitan City-17 Dobilla, the team deployed from Baidam Ward police station, two people who were driving under the influence of alcohol and eight people who violated traffic rules were punished.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Kumar Paswan of the District Police Office informed that nine people who drove a vehicle and two people who violated traffic rules were prosecuted in Pokhara-23 and 24 in Gwarachina area.

Similarly, a team deployed from the Ward Police Office Bagar took action against one person who was driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs, three people who were driving a vehicle while driving and four people who violated traffic rules in Pokhara-16 Akala.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Paswan said that four people who were driving a vehicle in the shape of sheep, one person who was driving a vehicle with a change of shape and six people who violated traffic rules were detained and prosecuted in Machhapuchre rural municipality-8.

A team with dogs from the Canine Branch of the Gandaki State Police Office checked the vehicle. The police have been conducting a ‘sweep operation’ to arrest those involved in illegal activities such as making noise at night, disrupting public peace and security, consuming illegal drugs including marijuana, and gambling.

According to the police, those who have consumed alcohol and marijuana will be handed over to their parents. Those who have a criminal background, who are involved in such activities and misbehave with the police during the investigation, have been registered a case in the court and the process of legal action will be taken forward.
