Kathmandu. One person died when a vehicle was swept away by a landslide in Myagdi. An EV vehicle was buried in a landslide last night on the Beni-Jomsom road section of Annapurna Rural Municipality-6 Mahbhir.

According to the police, the driver of the vehicle, Sohail Mia, 23, resident of Virganj Metropolitan City-21, Parsa, died in the accident. Last night at around 2 o’clock, an EV vehicle without a license plate was buried in a landslide with stones and mud.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, a joint rescue team with armed personnel from District Police Office Myagdi and Gulm Hekwa was deployed at the spot. The rescue team took Mia out of the vehicle and took her to the provincial hospital, Beni, where the doctor declared her dead.

The police did not reveal anything about whether other passengers were injured in the incident. The Beni Jomsom road has been completely blocked due to landslides. The police also said that efforts are being made to open the Beni-Jomsom road section after the first one.
