Kathmandu. The Teachers Service Commission has expedited the publication of the review results of the complaints of about 6,000 teachers who are on the merit list for promotion.

According to the spokesperson of the Commission, Parshuram Tiwari, according to the decision made by the Secretariat of the Promotion Recommendation Committee, the merit list for promotion based on 75% performance evaluation has been published in a hurry. According to the provision under paragraph 15 of the ‘Teacher Service Commission Working Procedures, 2078’ (with amendments), the commission has started publishing the results after studying the documents and evidences received and establishing the promotion results of the teachers of the respective districts and levels.

The review work was stopped due to the fact that the officials of the commission have been vacant for the last six months while publishing the results of the study/investigation on the complaints received on the performance evaluation from the Directorate of Education Development under the Ministry of Education of various provinces. The commission has published the review results of Secondary II Level Ilam, Sunsari, Jhapa, Solukhumbu and last October 29th of Primary II Lamjung, Baglung, Gorkha, Nawalparasi Bardghat Susta East and Kaski.

The Government of Nepal had appointed officials including Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal as the chairman of the Commission on August 25. Officials of the Commission were vacated by the ‘Special Provisions on Dismissal of Public Officers Ordinance, 2083’ issued on 18th Baisakh.
