Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Chairman Gagan Thapa has said that the organization will move forward in a new way by including the leaders and workers who have not been given responsibility within the party. At the reception and workers’ meeting held in Syangja, he said that the party should be united by giving opportunities and responsibilities to everyone rather than winning and losing in internal competition.

Thapa said that since the Congress is a party of four generations, the leaders-activists who competed in the central committee and could not get responsibility at various levels such as ward, region, district and state will also be given other responsibilities according to the party’s constitution. Mentioning that the position he got was not permanent but only a responsibility, he said that within the party, the tradition of considering the position as big or small should be ended.

He asked that the month of November should be used as a campaign for awakening and strengthening the organization of the party. He said that the main challenge of the Congress now is to restore the trust of the people rather than the votes lost in the elections. He said that every leader and worker should work hard to improve the relationship with the people, saying that the vote will come after the return of trust.

Thapa also directed to conduct a campaign to reach the homes of the families and voters who have distanced themselves from the Congress. Stating that work should be done with the aim of reaching around one million people who have distanced themselves from the Congress within November, he emphasized that they should meet them and understand the reason for their distance from the party.

Thapa said that the Congress should review its image and the perception of the people and identify the internal and external reasons for the loss of trust. He said that without deviating from the values established by the founding leaders, a party should be built which can address the challenges of the present time and the questions of the youth.

He said that now that the stage of internal competition is over, everyone should unite and start the campaign to expand the organization and win the trust of the people. Informing that the upcoming central committee meeting will decide the future plan of the party, he said that the organization should be mobilized keeping the local level elections at the center.

According to Thapa, the work of selecting candidates will not be carried out in the old way of doing it just before the election. He said that the Congress is preparing to complete the initial process of candidates by November-January and select them through digital voting from grassroots workers and send the candidates to the field two to three months before the election.
