Kathmandu. It is raining in various parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley. Light to moderate rain has been falling in different parts of the country since Thursday evening.
There is a chance of rain today afternoon and night. According to the Nepal Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain/snowfall at one or two places in Kosi, Madhes and Wagmati provinces in the afternoon.
The department has said that there will be clouds in most places in Kosi, Madhes, Wagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces in the afternoon. It will be generally cloudy in the far western region.
There is a possibility of moderate rain/snowfall with thunder and lightning at several places of Kosi, Madhes and Wagmati Provinces, some places of Gandaki Province and some places of Lumbini, Karnali and Himalayan and hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province.
There is a chance of light rain at a few places in Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim region. The department has said that it will be generally cloudy in the country at night. There is a chance of moderate to moderate rain/snowfall in a few mountainous areas of the country.
There is a chance of light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Kosi and Gandaki regions. At present, there is a partial effect of western winds along with remnants of Cyclone ‘Arnab’ developed in the Bay of Bengal in Nepal. The department has said that its effect will gradually decrease from this afternoon.
