Kathmandu. Chairman of CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli has recently commented that he was shocked by the birth of a ‘fake god’ in the society.
Speaking at the Madan Bhandari Memorial Foundation Nepal’s souvenir launch event in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Oli satirized religious belief, yoga philosophy and blind devotion in the society.
Oli said that after Parvati gave a curse, the children of the gods stopped being born and then fake gods started being born. “22-23 hundred years ago, when the gods were born sporadically, 33 crores were born. The blessed Parvati cursed and no gods were born,” he said, “Now the gods stopped when no god had a child, but after Parvati cursed, a fake god was born again.”
Oli also commented on the tendency in the society to easily regard the Jogi who comes from the south as God. He said that they do not know the scholars of their own country enough, but they quote books written by foreigners more.
Oli asserted that Yoga is being tried to create confusion by connecting it with God and said that Ashtanga Yoga teaches not to do violence, not to lie, to speak the truth, to walk on the path of peace and not to covet other people’s property.
Coming to Patanjali’s yoga, he claimed that yoga philosophy was mixed with theism and said that yoga helps in the development of a healthy body and a healthy mind.
