Kaski. Last October, 32 thousand 963 foreign tourists visited the Annapurna Conservation Area. Out of which there are 12 thousand 645 tourists from South Asian countries and 20 thousand 318 tourists from other countries.
Dr. Ravin Kadaria, head of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, said that compared to the same period last year, 2,416 more tourists have come this year. Last year in October, 30,547 tourists visited this area.
In the current year, most tourists have entered in October. 17 thousand 913 tourists came in August and 26 thousand 591 tourists in July. According to the head of the project, Dr. Kadaria, since October and October are the main tourist seasons, tourist arrivals will increase during this time.
The project office has kept the data only of foreign tourists traveling on the Annapurna cycle path. Every year, a large number of domestic tourists enter the Annapurna region through the road. As Sharad Yam is considered best for trekking, this area is preferred by tourists who prefer trekking.
During this time, there is an increase in the traffic of domestic and foreign tourists at the destinations of the Annapurna route including Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal, Ghandruk, Tilicho Lake in Manang, Thorangla Bhanjyang, Upallo Mustang, Ghodepani in Myagdi.
According to Dr. Kadaria, the head of the project, there are more people going for padayatra between Dasain and Tihar. The Annapurna Conservation Area spread over 7,600 square kilometers is considered an attractive destination for trekking. Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi etc. can be decided for short, medium and long distance trekking in Annapurna region. Annapurna conservation area includes 87 wards of 15 local levels of Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi and Mustang.
