Kathmandu. About 1,000 people were arrested during nationwide protests in France on Saturday.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced the number of people arrested after the demonstration and said that the final details are being collected and this number may increase.

Although there have been reports of clashes between protesters and the police in various cities in France, it is said that this time the unrest has spread less than last Saturday. In addition to vandalism and arson of buildings across the country, around 1,500 shops were looted last week. Interior Minister Núñez said that more than 2,700 people were arrested during the demonstration alone at the end of last week.
