Chitwan. The land and housing businessmen of Chitwan have met the Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal and demanded to open the land auction.
In the bilateral meeting held in Sauraha, the businessmen drew the attention of the government to clarify the land use policy by solving the problems encountered in land transactions.
Senior Vice President Hemant KC (Hari), Vice President Jairam Khatri, Working Committee Member Shankar Sitaula, IP Thapa and other businessmen participated in the meeting led by Baburam Adhikari, President of Narayani Jagga and Housing Association.
During the meeting, the presiding officer said that since the government receives significant revenue from land transactions, it is necessary to make this sector organized and sustainable. He asked the government to remove obstacles in land acquisition, to clarify land use policy and to review profit tax and revenue related arrangements to make it easier for businessmen.
Businessmen said that not only the businessmen were affected by the problems in land transactions, but also the buying and selling of land and the construction of housing for the general public. They opined that the policy clarity and smooth process will increase the activity of the real estate sector and also contribute positively to the government revenue.
In response, Minister Rawal clarified the land use policy and said that the government is serious about solving the problems in land transactions. Businessmen have said that he has promised to facilitate the necessary facilitation regarding the opening of land allocations.
Businessmen expect that if the policy confusion regarding land acquisition is removed, it will help to organize the real estate business and facilitate housing construction activities.
