Canberra. Daylight saving has started in five Australian states and territories from Sunday. In New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, clocks are moved forward one hour to 3 a.m. from 2 a.m.

With the start of daylight savings, the time in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart is 5 hours and 15 minutes ahead of Nepal. Earlier these cities were 4 hours 15 minutes ahead of Nepal. In Adelaide, the time is 4 hours 45 minutes ahead of Nepal.

Along with this, Nepalis in Australia and those who regularly communicate with Australia from Nepal have to pay attention to the time difference of one hour when scheduling phone calls, online classes, office meetings and family conversations.

Areas with daylight saving will have longer daylight hours in the summer. This will provide more time for outdoor activities after work or study. But due to the time change, sleep and daily schedule may be affected for the first few days, so it is suggested to adjust the sleeping time gradually.

Daylight Savings is not implemented in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia. Daylight Savings will continue until April 4, 2027.
