Kathmandu. Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Sunil Lamsal has said that plans to build cricket stadiums with a capacity of at least 8,000 spectators with floodlights in eight major cities of the country have been advanced. He believes that this plan, which aims to complete the construction within three years, will help to make Nepali cricket nationwide.
On the occasion of the commencement of the third edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL), Minister Lamsal has informed that the process of construction of the stadium has been started so that the competition can be conducted in the ‘home and away’ system.
He expressed his belief that the plan will expand the NPL to different cities of the country and add a new dimension to the development of Nepali cricket. In addition, he requested the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) to make the necessary preparations accordingly to make the plan successful.
The third edition of NPL starts today. It is expected that if cricket stadiums with modern facilities are built in eight major cities, it will be easy to conduct the tournament matches in different places of the country.
