Mustang. In the month of June 2026, 80 thousand 253 foreign tourists have entered Mustang.

According to National Nature Conservation Fund Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Jomsom, in June 2026, 78 thousand 670 tourists from SAARC countries and 1 thousand 583 tourists from other countries visited Mustang. Out of the total number of foreign tourists who entered, 98.02 percent were from SAARC countries and 1.97 percent were tourists from other countries, informed Rajesh Gupta, head of the office of ACAP Jomsom.

He said that more than 95 percent of the foreign tourists who entered Mustang in the month of June were Indian tourists.

In May 2026, 65 thousand 994 foreign tourists visited Mustang. 61 thousand 798 of SAARC countries and 4 thousand 196 of other countries are among the tourists who entered in this way. According to the ACAP Jomsom office, a total of 20,868 foreign tourists entered Mustang in June 2025. In that month, 19 thousand 649 foreign tourists from SAARC countries and 1 thousand 209 foreign tourists visited Mustang.

According to ACAP chief Gupta, compared to June 2025, there was an increase in the arrival of 59 thousand 395 foreign tourists in Mustang district in June 2026 alone. During the 6 months from January to June 2026, 222,992 foreign tourists visited Mustang. Among them, 208,011 people are from SAARC and 14,981 people from other countries, ACAP chief Gupta informed.

Earlier, 98 thousand 481 foreign tourists entered Mustang during the 6 months from January to June 2025. According to the statistics of the ACAP office, compared to the year 2025, 124,511 people visited Mustang during the six months period till June 2026.

According to the statistics of ACAP Jomsom office, a total of 161,142 foreign tourists visited Mustang from January to December 2025. In 2026, the arrival of Indian tourists to Mustang has increased tremendously. According to the statistics of ACAP, more than 95 percent of the foreign tourists who entered Mustang are Indian tourists. ACAP chief Gupta said that a significant number of Indian tourists come from neighboring India to visit Muktinath.

50 percent of the Indian tourists who entered Mustang came from their own country with private vehicles for Muktinath darshan. The hotels of Myagdi, Baglung and Pokhara are full of tourists with the presence of Indian tourists who came to Mustang to visit Muktinath. It has been found that most of the Indian tourists who come to Mustang return after visiting Muktinath.

Similarly, tourists from other countries enter Mustang via Manang under the Round Annapurna Cycle Path, while some foreign tourists from other countries enter Mustang via the Pokhara-Jomsom air route and the Beni-Jomsom road. According to Acap Lomanthang, only three percent of the tourists who enter Mustang visit Upper Mustang.
