Karnali. The rescue operation has become difficult when the passenger force vehicle that crashed in the Dailekh road section of the Karnali highway plunged into the Karnali river. Chief of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police Shravan Kumar Vick of District Police Office, Dailekh, informed the police that there was difficulty in the rescue operation as the water level in the river had risen and the vehicle was submerged so that it could not be seen.
According to him, the force vehicle No. 02-001 B 1055, which was going from Surkhet to Kalikot, had an accident at Sangetada of Chamundabindrasaini Municipality-7 Dailekh at 11:30 am this morning and fell into the Karnali river.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Vick informed that Namthar and an unidentified man were rescued from the spot in an unconscious condition. He said that the personnel of the police, armed police force, Nepal Gulm Dailekh, Upper Karnali Hydropower Project Security Base are jointly carrying out the search and rescue operation along with the rescue materials.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Vick, the team of divers along with Deputy Inspector General of Police Jairaj Sapkota, Chief of Police of Karnali Province Police Office, has already left Surkhet. He said that when Budget left Surkhet Bus Park at 8:00 this morning, there were five people on board, but he was not sure how many people were in the vehicle.
According to him, it is assumed that the vehicle fell 400 meters and drowned in the Karnali river. The place where the vehicle sank is three kilometers north of Dailekh Paltada police station and 50 kilometers west of Zipra Dailekh. The police said that due to the complicated geographical situation, it will take time to get more details about the incident.
