Kathmandu. The mango harvesting season has started in Beise, South China. This year, farmers are collecting produce with the help of modern technology instead of traditional methods.
Local farmers have started using drones to harvest anf, which has saved both labor and time. According to Yang Jiang, a drone operator, “It used to take about 10 hours to pick 10,000 kilograms of mangoes, but now the work can be done in 5-6 hours with the use of drones.”
The use of smart devices has also increased in the agricultural sector. Technologies such as weather, soil moisture, insect-disease detection and early warning systems are being widely used in China’s gardens.
Likewise, ‘Fruit Diameter Measurement System’ has been introduced to monitor the growth of mangoes, which has made production management more scientific. According to Liu Dehuan, chief agricultural expert of the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, “These mangoes have been growing for about 100 days, but they are still small.” We increase irrigation, which can increase production by about 10 percent.
