Kathmandu. Eight ‘Blue Bus’ services are set to be operated in Kathmandu Valley in the first phase from the 1st of July.

As part of the 100 agenda for government reform announced by the government, the service has been prepared to operate free of charge in all seven provinces to ensure the safe movement of women.

In the first 100 days, 25 buses will be operated, said Ramhari Pokharel, spokesperson of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development. Common Transport has written to the Ministry of Finance for its opinion and suggestions for operating the bus service. After receiving the approval from the Ministry, the bus service will be operated from July 1 in the first phase.

In the initial phase, two buses will be operated on the Lagankhel-Budhanilkanth route and two on the Thankot-Nagadhunga-Airport route. Four buses will be operated in the ring road area. According to the ministry, two of them will be operated in clockwise direction and two in anti-clockwise direction.
