Kathmandu. Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav has prepared to reduce the allowance given for doing extra work (overtime) in Nepal Oil Corporation.
Minister Yadav has taken this step to stop the unnecessary expenditure and irregularity of crores of rupees in the name of overtime in the corporation.
Under the Staff Administration Regulations of Nepal Oil Corporation, 2063, the extra work allowance provided under the title of ‘service facility’ has now been started to restructure on the basis of ‘shift system’.
Statistics show that in the name of overtime allowance in the corporation last year alone, up to 130 million rupees were spent annually. Minister Yadav said that this kind of wasteful expenditure has put a financial burden on the organization and it has also promoted irregularities and has decided to cut the expenditure.
After the implementation of the new system, instead of giving extra allowance to the employees, they will be divided into different shifts based on the nature of work. It is believed that from this decision, significant savings will be made in the administrative expenses of the corporation and it will help in maintaining financial discipline within the organization.
