Kathmandu. Global IME Bank Limited has been honored with the ‘Best Bank Award’ 2026 by the prestigious international financial magazine ‘Global Finance’.
Along with this, the bank has been honored with the Best Bank Award by Global Finance Magazine for the third year in a row. Global IME Bank also received the award of Global Finance in the same category in 2024 and 2025.
At a special ceremony held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, representatives of Global Finance handed over the award to Suman Pokharel and Dipchandra Regmi, Deputy Chief Executive Officers of the bank.
Global Finance has awarded the bank based on its ability to mobilize financial resources, institutional credibility, expansion of geographic and digital access, strategic business partnerships, customer-friendly innovation, successful use of cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable lending and strong risk management.
Major financial institutions from around the world including the Asia-Pacific region were also awarded at the ceremony. Bank of China of Hong Kong, State Bank of India of India, ICBC of China, Global IME Bank of Nepal, UOB Malaysia of Malaysia, Citibank of Bangladesh, MUFG Bank of Japan and other internationally renowned banks have been honored in various categories.
This honor has encouraged Global IME Bank to provide more excellent services. For this honor, the bank has expressed its sincere gratitude to the Government of Nepal, Nepal Rashtra Bank and other regulatory bodies, shareholders, employees and all customers who have supported the progress of the bank from various aspects.
Global IME Bank is the first Nepali bank to be honored with this prestigious award by Global Finance. Global Finance presents this prestigious award to the world’s best central banks and commercial banks.
In addition to this award, Global IME Bank, which has been honored in various national and international categories due to its modern technology and excellent customer service, has received the title of ‘Bank of the Year 2014’, ‘Best Internet Bank 2016’, and ‘Best Bank Nepal’ in the years 2024, 2025 and 2026. Similarly, the bank has also received prestigious awards such as Euromoney Award for Excellence 2022, 2024 and 2025, Best Bank ESG Nepal 2024 and Best Employer.
