Kathmandu. Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) is going to receive vaccine assistance worth Rs 8.59 billion to Nepal.

Based on the initiative and dialogue of the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene, Nepal will receive assistance worth Rs.

Likewise, during the audit of the aid amount provided for Nepal’s regular vaccination program from cows, three hundred eight thousand 271 US dollars, which was mentioned to be returned by Nepal, has been omitted, pointing out a procedural error during the audit from the financial year 2016/17 to 2021/22.

In the face of growing pressure on development aid and financial resources worldwide, ensuring vaccination aid for 2030 and reducing the amount shown to be returned is considered as an important achievement in the direction of sustaining Nepal’s national vaccination program, according to the Minister’s Secretariat.

Minister Mehta’s initiative and dialogue with Gavi on the issue of aid amount is expected to facilitate and waive the amount to be paid, which is expected to make a significant contribution to the financial management of the National Vaccination Program, according to ministry sources.

Nepal has been keeping children and target population safe from various infectious diseases through the National Vaccination Program. According to the ministry, the support received from international partners is important to maintain the continuity, accessibility and effectiveness of regular vaccination services.
