Lumbini. The Lumbini state government has allocated the budget for the next financial year by giving top priority to education and social development of the state.

Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Dhanendra Karki said that in the budget for the coming fiscal year 2083/84, the budget has been allocated with priority in the field of education and social development.

In the budget statement presented by Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Karki, he informed that Rs 110 million has been allocated for the physical, educational and technological infrastructure and management of the Lumbini Technical University, which is a proud project of Lumbini Province, with an innovation center.

It is expected that this will help students studying technical subjects in higher education to develop innovative skills by using the latest technologies including artificial intelligence and robotics developed globally.

Similarly, Rs 400 million has been allocated for the development of physical, educational and technological infrastructure of community schools and campuses and completion of incomplete projects in different financial years with priority.

In addition to this, Rs 15 million has been allocated for the development of the capacity of community school teachers including basic learning and assessment system training for basic level teachers, stem-based capacity development training for secondary level mathematics, science and social subject teachers, leadership and managerial capacity development of principals.

In the budget, Rs 76 million has been allocated to provide scholarships for the access, continuity and capacity building of target group students in higher education, technical education and school education and it is believed that about 10 thousand students will benefit from this.

In order to implement the multi-sectoral nutrition third plan, by conducting advocacy programs for school hygiene promotion and behavior change, Rs. It is believed that around 12,000 children will benefit from this.

Similarly, in order to achieve the goal of equal access to education, 70 million rupees have been allocated as a special subsidy for the development of the basic information technology infrastructure of 100 public secondary schools with poor technological infrastructure in 40 local levels of this province where the level of poverty is high.

Continuing with the theme of ‘Women of Lumbini: First in Entrepreneurship’, necessary budget has been allocated to conduct women’s entrepreneurship development program in collaboration with the federal, state and local levels to make women financially capable, skilled and self-reliant. In addition to the partnership of the federal government, Rs. 1 crore has been allocated in the budget to conduct a community-based rehabilitation program for disability prevention and rehabilitation.

The government of Lumbini province has announced that it will create the necessary laws and plans to declare the province as a human-free province for road assistance. For this purpose, the necessary budget has been allocated in the budget for declaring a cooperative road-dependent human-free province and conducting targeted programs for the economic and social empowerment of economically and socially backward classes, regions, genders and communities in collaboration with stakeholders.
