Khotang. Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-4 Khalle and Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-11 near the border of Rajapani, the famous Gharti Bhir Chattana has been constructed by breaking the rock. The road was constructed by breaking a huge rock near Ghartibehir, which is a short distance road connecting the Everest highway from Diktel Bazar, the main commercial center of the district, through Ahale-Regmitar.
The road construction work has been completed with an investment of 1 crore seven lakh 78 thousand through Koshi State Government, Physical Infrastructure Development Office Khotang. According to Sitaram Raut, Accounts Officer of Physical Infrastructure Office Khotang, Kamala Construction and Suppliers Udaipur has signed a contract for Rs.
Khalle Ward President Khagendra Rai informed that the contractor company took about five months to use excavators to break the rocks and make them cross the road near Ghartivir. The contractor company signed a contract with the Physical Infrastructure Development Office in January 2082 for the construction of the road near Gharti.
On Saturday, outgoing Physical Infrastructure Development and Health Minister Bhupendra Rai inaugurated the road connecting Ahale-Regmitar-Sagarmatha highway after breaking up the embankment on the Sapsukhola bank of the Diktel-Ahale-Regmitar road section and constructing the road on Saturday. “Mahure-Buipa-Rajapani-Regmitar road section is long. A straighter and shorter road has been opened by cutting it along the edge”, he said, “This road is useful for both passengers and transporters.”
Even in the past, even though there was a plan to make a short distance road by cutting Ghartivir, no one dared to cut the fence. After the physical infrastructure office was established in Khotang under the government of Koshi province, the necessary budget was allocated and the road was constructed by breaking the rocks around the house. After the construction of the existing Goreto road, a short-distance road has been opened from Diktel via Udaipur’s Gaighat to various districts of the eastern Terai. Initially, it was going to Gaighat via Mahure-Buipa-Rajapani-Regmitar-Foksingtar from Diktel. Alternatively, it is planned to travel from Diktel via Ahale-Rajapani to Regmitar to Gaighat.
Diktel-Khanidanda-Ahale-Regmitar road is the shortest distance road from Diktel market to various districts of Terai, so Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality has given it first priority. In order to connect the road under construction, there was a barrier near Gharti in Rajapani. Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality Mayor Teerthraj Bhattarai said that after the Kahure-Foxingtar road of the Diktel-Gaighat section of the Sagarmatha Highway was lengthened, the construction of the Diktel-Regmitar road was started.
“The Diktel-Khanidanda-Ahale-Regmitar road section is 17 and a half kilometers shorter than the Diktel-Mahure-Buipa-Rajapani-Regmitar road. As this is the shortest distance road connecting the Terai from Diktel market, the budget has been allocated by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure”, he said, “The municipal budget is more than Rs. We have already built it. We are planning to operate regular traffic after the road is built by breaking the big rocks around the house.”
It is expected that if regular traffic is operated on the Diktel-Khanidanda-Regmitar road section, it will be easier to travel to different districts of Eastern Terai and to transport food, hardware, fuel and other daily necessities in the district. Last year, the Infrastructure Development Office awarded a contract to break the rock near the house and to upgrade the previously constructed roads. Construction of a motorable bridge is also underway at Dikhuvakhola on the same road section with a budget of Rs.
About 20 million worth of steel trusses needed for the truss bridge which has been started in Dikhuwakhola have been transported to the construction site. Due to the lack of a motorable bridge on the Diktel-Regmitar road section, Diktel-Regmitar, traffic has been halted for about six months during the rainy season. Diktel-Mahure (20 km) and Mahure-Rajapani-Regmitar road (29 km) and Diktel-Regmitar road (59 km) are long. The Diktel-Khanidanda-Ahale-Regmitar road, which is under construction with the investment of the state government, is 17 and a half kilometers shorter than the Diktel-Mahure-Rajapani-Regmitar road, which is passing through black paper.
