Kathmandu. Acting Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol, said that the historical streets, temples and heritage of Kathmandu are not only physical structures, but the original lifestyle and identity of this place. She emphasized that one should not just run through Kathmandu but feel its culture, heritage and people’s life closely.

Addressing the 10 km long ‘Heritage Run’ organized by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City from Vasantpur area, Dangol said that the metropolis is carrying out its programs by focusing on citizens, heritage and culture.

According to him, Kathmandu’s temples, historic streets, bhajan-kirtan, traditional food and original atmosphere in the morning have made the city alive. He says that walking or running creates a close relationship with the city.

Heritage Run is not just a running competition, but an opportunity to connect with Kathmandu’s culture, heritage and people’s life. Our aim is not only to run, but to feel Kathmandu and develop a sense of belonging to it,” said Dangol.

The Heritage Run saw enthusiastic participation from different generations. From grandparents to grandchildren participated in the program, from 75-year-old senior citizens to young people and children completed the 10 km distance.
