Kathmandu. Complaints have increased recently on the hotline, which was launched under the direction of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment Minister Geeta Chaudhary to prevent irregularities in the distribution of chemical fertilizers.
Based on the information received there, when the local administration raided, it was also found that there was irregularity in the distribution of chemical fertilizers. Based on the same complaint, it is suspected that there is irregularity in the distribution of chemical fertilizers in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Gulmi.
Premnarayan Pandey, secretary of the District-based New Progressive Agricultural Cooperative, said that the government’s subsidy was not given through the chemical fertilizer cooperative, but it was found that the private shops sold it at a higher price.
According to Minister Choudhary, the cooperative brought 535 sacks of urea and 171 sacks of DAP fertilizer from the Agricultural Materials Company Limited, Bhairahawa as per the agreement on 15th June and it was found that it was from a private shop.
According to the Nepal Police, manure was sold in front of Neelkanth Pandey’s shop in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-1 Harmichour, Kamal Prasad Neupane’s and Umapati Neupane’s grocery shops in Ward No. 2 Arbeni in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality and Niramaya Budha’s stationery shop in Ward No. 4 in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality.
According to the police, receipts were not given to the consumers and records of the buyers were not kept during the sale and distribution of fertilizers.
