Kathmandu. The Department of Transportation Management has reduced the fares of public and cargo vehicles running between provinces by two percent since the midnight of June 17th, with the decrease in the price of petroleum products.
The department has issued a public notice today that the fare of public transport and freight vehicles has been reduced by two percent.
The department said that the average price of diesel was Rs 235 83 paisa per liter last time when the fare was adjusted and since last June 17, it was Rs 193 83 per liter.
Earlier, according to the ministerial decision on 12th Baisakh 2083, the fare of public and freight vehicles was increased by five percent.
Punya Prasad Sitaula (Saroj), President of Nepal National Transport Traders Association, said that the department has reduced the fare of public transport and freight vehicles by two percent.
