Kathmandu. The Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education (Gate College) located in Mandikhatar, Kathmandu has celebrated its 20th anniversary and mega assembly program on Thursday.

In a special function organized in the college premises on Thursday, the achievements of the institution in the last two decades, educational contribution and contribution made in the field of hospitality and tourism education were reviewed. The event was inaugurated by Chairman Sudarshan Chapagain and Founder-CEO Khemraj Lakai by jointly lighting the lamp.

Addressing the program, the founder and CEO of the organization, Khemraj Lakai, recalled the initial moments when he entered the field. Motivating the students, he said that you will definitely get what you want from your heart, but hard work will be required for it.

In addition, he expressed his commitment to further strengthen quality education, professional skill development and international level educational practices in the future.

Similarly, in the program, the chairman of the organization Sudarshan Chapagain expressed his happiness that the organization’s foundation and team are very strong. He also gave special thanks to the entire team and members who supported the organization in every situation in its ups and downs journey.

कार्यक्रममा हस्पिटालिटी शिक्षामा विश्व प्रसिद्ध स्वीट्जरल्यान्डका इकोल होटेलियर डे लुजान (ईएचएल)का विद्यार्थी युरियन हेमलले प्रमुख वक्ताका रूपमा सम्बोधन गरेका थिए। Narrating his experience of coming to Nepal, he said that his first encounter with Nepal’s ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, its culture, nature and hospitality was very unforgettable.

Similarly, Nisha Shrestha, president of the college’s student council, expressed her best wishes on behalf of the students and held the view that a new chapter is about to begin in their lives with this milestone of the college.

During the celebration, the best students under BIHM, BPH and professional programs of the college were awarded with Semester Topper, Best Grooming Award, Attendance Award, and Presentation Award. Also, employees who have made excellent contributions throughout the year were also honored in various categories.

The program included a formal introduction of the students of the new academic session (Batch-37) and an attractive stage walk among various cultural performances and entertainment programs. As the main attraction of the event, ‘Mr and Miss Gate-2026’ competition was organized. Winners have been chosen in three different categories this year, going through an exciting question-and-answer phase. Among them, the best 3 students in three categories, namely ‘Mr and Miss Fashion Icon’, ‘Mr and Miss Get Personality’, and the main title ‘Mr and Miss Get’, were awarded with special honors.

The ceremony was attended by the founder, management team, staff, students, alumni parents, and representatives of various partner organizations.

After two decades of glorious journey, Gate College has succeeded in leaving a strong mark on tourism and hospitality education in Nepal.
