Kathmandu. In the first three months of the current fiscal year, more than 157 million condoms have been imported into Nepal. According to the foreign trade data of the Customs Department, condoms worth more than 80 million rupees have entered Nepal from July to October.
According to the details of the department, a total of 1 crore 57 lakh 11 thousand 20 condoms were imported during that period. Its total price is 85 million 79 thousand rupees.
It is mentioned in the data that the state got only 2000 rupees revenue due to the import of condoms in such a large quantity. The revenue collection has been low because the government has provided exemptions in customs duty by placing condoms under the category of essential health supplies.
