Kathmandu. Cyclone Arnab, active in India, has weakened and developed into a low pressure area. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of rain, snow and storm in Nepal, but there is no risk of storm like when the cyclone is strong, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
According to the update released by the division at 11:30 am on Thursday, Cyclone Arnab has now developed into a strong low pressure area. As this system becomes weaker when it enters Nepal, rain, snow and wind may occur as its effect, but there is no possibility of strong cyclone-like wind, the division has clarified.
Earlier, the division had asked to be cautious saying that rain and snowfall are likely in different parts of the country due to the remnants of the cyclone. Especially in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki states, due to the risk of heavy snowfall, caution has been requested.
As the weather may become unfavorable, the division has asked to be cautious in harvesting paddy, trekking and mountain climbing activities. The department has also requested to schedule agricultural work and travel based on the official forecast and updated information as the weather conditions can change in an instant.
