Kathmandu. Local residents have objected that the Melamchi water supply project has blocked the road from Sundarijal to Sindhupalchok and Nuwakot.
Sushil Simkhada, a local resident, informed that since the project blocked the motor road that can easily go to destinations like Gosaikund and Helambu through Sundarijal, there has been a problem in traffic. The Melamchi water supply project has blocked the road to construct a structure in the Mahankal section of Sundarijal. This motorway is used by hundreds of people every day and is traditionally the main route.
He said that the project has forcibly closed the road without consulting and coordinating with the local citizens, local government and people’s representatives at any level.
