Dang. A fire broke out in a cosmetic shop in Hapure Bazar, Babai Rural Municipality-5 of Dang. The shop was completely destroyed by fire. A fire broke out in the Gauri beauty shop run by local Khim Bahadur Somai around 8 pm on Wednesday. It is believed that the fire started due to an electrical short.

Locals said that even after more than two hours since the fire started, the fire brigade could not reach all the goods of the shop. Due to the lack of fire engines, local residents, Nepal Police and armed police teams tried to put out the fire by carrying buckets of water. A team including Chief Hom Bahadur Parajuli of Tulsipur Area Police Office was deployed at the place of fire. But their efforts were not successful in front of the big fire.

Four municipalities in West Dang are without fire stations

Locals say that there is no operational fire engine in the four municipalities of Paschim Dang, including Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city, so they have to suffer huge losses in case of fire.

Earlier, a fire station belonging to the Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city was set on fire during the Genji movement on August 24, 2082. Till now, Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city has not been able to purchase a new fire engine. Therefore, in case of fire, fire brigade has to be called from Ghorahi, which is about 46 km from Hapure and about 20 km from Tulsipur.
