Humla. The Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Mangal Bahadur Shahi, has said that after the federal republic, access to roads, electricity and communication services has expanded in the villages of Karnali.
In a program held at Suryodaya Secondary School, where he studied in the year 2041, in Adanchuli Rural Municipality-3, Srinagar, he clarified that in Karnali, where in the past it was difficult to even bring rice and salt, the expansion of road network, electricity reaching villages and mobile phones in the hands of citizens are important examples of change.
Recalling the sad days of Karnali people’s past life, Chief Minister Shahi compared the past situation with the current environment and expressed the opinion that the new generation should respect the achievements achieved after the federal republic.
Remembering the past, he said, “When I was studying in this school in 2041, we had to go to Kolti and Martadi in Bajura, we used to carry heavy loads on the way and even when we brought rice from there, we had to carry heavy loads ourselves.”
Chief Minister Shahi pointed out the need for everyone to consider the fact that roads and electricity have reached the villages and the access to communication services has expanded, recalling that students had to study by burning a stream due to the lack of kerosene.
He mentioned that along with the physical development, there has also been a change in the social sector. Stating that there has been a remarkable improvement in the field of social respect and rights, he said, “All castes and communities of the society have now been able to live with dignity.”
