Kathmandu. After the end of Dasain, the price of chicken meat has decreased. The National Poultry Sales Professionals Association has reduced the prices of both live chicken and prepared meat with effect from today (Monday).
According to the association, the price of live chicken has decreased by Rs 10 per kg. The price of live chicken, which was being sold at Rs 290 per kg before Dasain, has now been fixed at Rs 280.
Similarly, the price of prepared meat has been reduced by Rs. 15 per kg. Prepared meat, which was sold at 400 rupees earlier, has been fixed at 385 rupees, according to the association.
The main reason for the decrease in prices is considered to be the decrease in meat consumption in the market. According to the association, goat meat is used more than chicken during Dasain.
