bow Dhanusha police have arrested four people on the charge of trying to extort money while threatening to publish the video on social media.
Those arrested are 23-year-old Sukan Mahato, 26-year-old Santosh Kumar Das, 22-year-old Panesh Kumar Mahato and 30-year-old Sujit Mahato of Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city-20.
According to Police Inspector Omprakash Khanal, Spokesperson of District Police Office Dhanusha, the accused made a video of abusing a girl and a young man. Preliminary investigation has revealed that they forced the victim’s parents to transfer Rs 6,000 through mobile banking by threatening to publish the video on social media.
After receiving information about the incident, the police started an investigation. During the investigation, the police also seized two motorcycles bearing the numbers J 12 P 7777 and Madhesh Pradesh 02-01 P 2902 from the accused.
District Police Office Dhanusha has informed that criminal benefit should not be taken from the four arrested persons and further investigation is being conducted for the crime related to child sexual abuse.
