According to the District Police Office, 79 vehicles were involved in 59 vehicle accidents in October. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident has been taken into custody by the police and necessary investigation and action has been taken.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Kumar Paswan, who is also the Information Officer of the District Police Office, when analyzing the accidents, more accidents occur due to high speed. 20 accidents have occurred due to speeding. When the bus of Kalika Boarding School met with an accident on October 23rd in Kaski, 6 people including 5 students lost their lives and 15 people were injured.
“There have been more accidents in Asoj compared to other months. There were many human casualties in school bus accidents. Apart from this, other minor accidents also increased in the last month. More accidents happen due to driver’s carelessness and high speed”, DSP Paswan said.
According to the police, among the other causes of accidents, there were 10 accidents due to drunken driving, five accidents due to drivers without driver’s license, one accident due to mechanical problems and 23 accidents due to other reasons.
The police have taken 4,785 actions against traffic violations in the month of October. According to the district police office, 39 lakh 98 thousand 500 revenue was collected from the action.
Similarly, two people have died in the disaster. Two men were killed in a landslide. In the month of October, there have been five incidents of fire, 28 incidents of incessant rain, two incidents of lightning and two incidents of dry landslides in Kaski.
