Dhangadhi. Disputes are raging within the ruling party regarding the budget of the Far West Province government. After the MPs of CPN-UML and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) expressed dissatisfaction with the budget and warned that they would vote against the budget, the provincial assembly meeting has been adjourned till tomorrow.

The State Assembly Secretariat has said that the meeting called for 8 am today has been postponed to 9 am tomorrow. Sources claim that the budget presented by the government has increased dissatisfaction within the ruling party as it is a game of commission through middlemen. Sources said that even some ministers are dissatisfied with the budget.

A provincial assembly meeting was called today to prepare for passing the budget. However, it is seen that it will be difficult for the government to pass the budget after the MPs of the ruling party have warned that they will vote against the budget. Sources say that the meeting was postponed due to this situation.

Finance Minister Chakra Bahadur Malla, Chief Minister Khagraj Bhatt and Finance Secretary Rajendra Hamal have also been accused of monopolizing the budget. The parliamentarians of the ruling party have become dissatisfied saying that the decision was made by a limited number of people without sufficient discussion in the budget making process.

Chief Minister Khagraj Bhatt has called the ministers for a discussion after the budget dispute escalated. It is said that in the discussion with the ministers, there will be a discussion about addressing the dissatisfaction with the budget and getting the budget passed by the provincial assembly. If the dispute within the ruling party is not resolved, the process of passing the budget is seen to be prolonged.
