Kathmandu. Chief Justice Dr. After the names of Manoj Kumar Sharma and Supreme Court Judge Hari Prasad Phuyal were publicly questioned, there has been a demand for an internal investigation in the Supreme Court.
A full meeting (full court) of the Supreme Court was held on Friday to discuss the issue. Most of the judges participating in the meeting are of the opinion that an impartial inquiry committee should be formed from within the court to maintain the dignity and credibility of the court.
All the judges except senior judge Sapna Pradhan Malla participated in the emergency meeting held before the start of the gola process to decide the case.
At the beginning of the meeting, Judge Hariprasad Phuyal gave his opinion about the conversation with ‘Inam’ which has been in the news lately. He admitted that Inam came to them with the Prime Minister’s name and then there was a conversation on WhatsApp. However, he claimed that he did not do any judicial deviation.
According to Supreme sources, Judge Phuyal said that there was no judgment as Inam said and none of the judges present in the court had administered justice in his favour. Instead, he said that only after they informed the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the atmosphere was created to arrest Inam.
He also demanded that an impartial investigation committee should be formed from within the court to bring out the truth as questions were raised by linking his name with that of the Chief Justice.
Judges Nityanand Pandey, Meghraj Pokharel, Mahesh Sharma Paudel, Srikant Paudel and Sharanga Subedi also expressed their opinion in the meeting. They emphasized that since the allegations against the court are serious, it should be investigated impartially and come to a conclusion.
According to one of the judges who participated in the meeting, although the issue of what the Parliament would do on its behalf was different, the opinion was held that the court should conduct an internal investigation and publicize the truth.
It has been agreed to hold a full court meeting again next Monday to discuss this matter further and take necessary decisions.
