Kathmandu. Prime Minister Walendra Shah and Rashtriya Swatantra Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane had a meeting on Wednesday afternoon. A source close to Prime Minister Shah informed Nepalkhabar that there was a long discussion between them in the afternoon at Lamichhane’s residence Budhanilkanth.

In the discussion with Chairman Lamichhane, Prime Minister Shah also kept Chief Advisor Kumar Ben with him. According to sources, four issues were mainly discussed between them. Government review, Federal Civil Service Ordinance, MP Khagendra Sunar case, Nepal Police IGP Dan Bahadur Karki were discussed.

Sources said that Prime Minister Shah and Speaker Lamichhane also discussed the matter of cabinet reshuffle. Chairman Lamichhane proposed to Prime Minister Shah that some ministers should be changed.

Sources say that although Balen was positive about Ravi’s proposal, no consensus was reached on the reorganization of the Council of Ministers in this discussion. Balen informed about bringing some ordinances with civil service. Chairman Lamichhane was of the opinion that the ordinance should not be introduced when the civil service bill has already been registered in Parliament.

Chairman Lamichhane raised the issue of how to proceed after the discipline and conduct investigation on the serious allegations against MP and central member of the party Khagendra Sunar. After the audio of him verbally abusing a woman with death threats came out, RSVP is conducting an internal investigation against MP Sunar.

On the other hand, there was a discussion between them about the discussion about the Prime Minister’s team trying to remove the Chief of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki. Prime Minister Shah’s secretariat has increased pressure on IGP Karki based on contacts with some people and questions raised in public. According to the leaders of RSVP, Speaker Lamichhane is in favor of not removing IGP Karki.

A source close to Prime Minister Shah told Nepalkhabar that he was also dissatisfied with the role of Speaker DP Aryal. Prime Minister Shah complained that the government did not get enough support from the parliament and the party.
