Myagdi. After the incessant rain from October 8th to 11th, the flood in the Myagdi River has damaged Singa Tatopani Kund, a natural healing place in Beni Municipality-4.

Out of the three ponds, the large and upper hot water pond where the patients take a dip for treatment has been flooded and mud has accumulated, while the small pond operated for tourists has been destroyed by the flood. Krishna Khadka, Chairman of Singa Hot Water Pool Management Committee, said that the clothes changing building, the building that houses the hot water storage tank and the open bathing place were destroyed and buried by the landslide.

“Because the flood has damaged the physical structures of Tatopani Kund, it is not possible to bathe for the time being, the tank has been closed,” President Khadka said, “We are trying to remove the accumulated flood in the pond and bring Tatopani Kund into operation.”

Meena Jugjali, a member of the committee, said that the meeting held on Monday decided that the residents of Tatopani had donated labor to remove the mud and mud that had accumulated in the pond. She said that she expects support from the municipality, state and federal government for the protection and maintenance of Singa Tatopani Kund, which is a tourist and natural healing site.

October-October is the main time to bathe in Singa hot water pool. Tatopani market has become deserted after the closure of the tank in the main yam. Hotel, restaurant and homestay businessmen are disappointed. Annually, more than 20,000 people come from all 77 districts of Nepal and even from abroad for natural treatment. On the banks of the Myagdi River, the hot water that comes out at a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius, which naturally smells of Veerenun, is bathed in a pool.

According to Kumar KC, Secretary of Singa Tatopani Kund Management Committee, it is believed that taking a bath in the pond where the water smelling of Veerenun is collected will cure skin, gastric, rheumatism, injuries and other health problems. The months of October-October, November, January, February, March and Baisakh are the time to bathe in the hot spring pool. Rasas
